Sacred Heart Cathedral will meet or exceed every directive issued by the State, City, and County for a safe delivery of this year’s baseball academy. We will strictly adhere to the guidelines set forth by the San Francisco Department of Public Health for Summer Day Camps. While the Academy is open to all rising 7-9th graders, because of our new format, we ask you to carefully read and consider details of this year’s special format prior to enrolling:

  • Dates: As noted above, the dates of the Academy will be July 6-24, Monday through Friday, from 9 am-noon each day. No lunch or food will be served. Campers must commit to participation in all three weeks of the program in order to enroll.
  • Space Availability: Due to staffing and space restrictions, enrollment will be limited to the first 24 registered campers.
  • Academy Format: Instruction and activities will be delivered in a clinic-style format for campers to work on individual skill development while maintaining optimal social distancing. Games and competitions will be incorporated on a limited basis.
  • Equipment: To optimize health and safety, campers are required to bring all of their own equipment including a bag, glove, hat, helmet, bat, batting gloves, and catcher’s gear (if appropriate). Other items such as water bottles and sunscreen will not be shared between campers. SHC will provide balls and sanitize them regularly, however, campers will not be allowed to share other equipment.
  • Playing Experience: For safety reasons, ideal campers would be motivated, engaged, and experienced baseball players. Travel ball players, past Hall of Fame Baseball Academy campers, and past Fightin’ Irish Winter Clinic participants are highly encouraged to enroll. The Academy will not operate in a traditional day camp format with a variety of classroom and recreational activities, so the ability to focus on baseball skill building for a three-week period is required.
  • Other Health & Safety Information: Parents and guardians will be required to sign an Assumption of Risk Waiver at the time of registration. Daily health checks of campers and coaches will additionally take place. SHC’s full health and safety plan will be shared prior to the beginning of the first day of the Academy.
