The depth of Beima’s institutional knowledge, her dedication to the SHC community, and her well-articulated vision for the future of SHC athletics all contributed to her appointment as athletic director. Beima’s vision of further developing a culture of excellence for the athletics department, focusing on positive team cultures, growth of student-athletes, competitiveness of SHC teams and first-class operations align with the school’s strategic plan, allowing her to emerge as the top candidate after an extensive search process.
For nearly two decades, Beima has led the SHC girls varsity volleyball program, amassing more than 500 wins, three WCAL titles, eight CCS crowns, five NorCal titles and a 2014 CIF state title. In 2011, Beima was named CIF State Model Coach of the Year and Western Regional Coach of the Year by the National Federation of State High School Associations. Finally, in 2018, she was named CalHi Sports State Girls Volleyball Coach of the Year. In addition, Beima founded the Serve it Up tournament nearly one decade ago, a gathering of teams from Lasallian schools for a day of community service followed by a tournament. Beima’s accomplishments as a coach are a reflection of her leadership, perseverance and compassionate mentorship. Her determination, dedication and passion for the sport and her team has inspired her players for years—characteristics that will serve her well at the helm of the SHC Athletic Program.
